The City College Reporter is the online newspaper published by undergraduate journalism students at the City College of New York. The stories published here are all the original reporting and writing of students in the Reporting and Writing II class. I taught the class as an adjunct professor.The goal of the class is to thoroughly report and concisely write about the news and issues that help inform the City College community. Originally, we had hoped to publish in the student newspaper, the Campus, which is the oldest student newspaper of all the City University of New York schools. But that simple ambition was stymied by the college’s own nabobs of negativism.
The first class of RW II reporters convened weekly at City College during the 16-week fall 2008 semester. Some of the stories can be found on the Web site. All of them are original and relevant. We hope you enjoy. This project is part of part of City College’s journalism revival and I hope to continue it next fall.
